Mariah

She / Her — Since 2020, Mariah has been tattooing her work under the name Real Tiny Goth. Her high-contrast blackwork style lends itself well to the spooky, gothic imagery she most prefers to tattoo. Bold, heavy blacks and crisp, bright whites compliment her illustrative style.

Come to her for everything from femme fatale portraiture to gnarled bones; from creatures of the night to elements of horror-fantasy; from classic haunted victorian imagery to modern punk vibes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

The best way to book with me is by filling out my booking form!

Q: How much do you charge?

Tattoo cost, deposits, and payment methods will all be discussed and disclosed during the booking process.

Q: Do you tattoo the same piece more than once?

I’m a huge advocate for uniqueness and personal identity, so for this reason I choose not to tattoo the same piece on more than one person. One and done.

I am more than happy to do a different version/similar concept of any given piece of already-claimed flash, though!

An exception to this would of course be matching tattoos! If you and your friend/parent/sibling/significant other/whatever want to get the same piece, I’m more than happy to do it!

Q: Do you do colour?

Hekk yeah I do! Colour is great, and I enjoy doing it! I only don’t post much colour to my instagram because ~ * ~ aesthetics ~ * ~

Q: What would you describe your style as?

My personal style is best described as “spooky illustrative blackwork”, although everyone has their own opinion on what constitutes and qualifies as any given established style, so it is whatever it is.

Q: Are there any styles/tattoos you won’t do?

Subject matter wise, absolutely. You won’t EVER catch me tattooing:

  • hate symbols

  • racist / homophobic / transphobic / discriminatory in any way

  • sexist / sexually graphic / explicit

  • just anything horrible and hateful and rude

Style wise: if I possess the skills to do it, I will! I’m still learning more styles and diversifying my skills every day, and if I’m able to give you a great tattoo in the style you’re seeking, I will.

My instagram is the place I advertise and promote my personal style and preferred subject matter, but I’m more than happy to branch out beyond that. PLEASE feel free to inquire about other styles and non-spooky subject matters!

Q: Will you tattoo someone else’s drawing?

Absolutely fucking not :)

For artistic integrity, art theft and plagiarism reasons, I will not tattoo someone else’s artwork.

I’m more than happy to redraw and redesign a concept based on a reference photo(s), but I will only tattoo my own artwork.

This also extends to other tattooers tattooing my drawings - it’s a no from me.

Q: Are you comfortable with darker/diverse skin tones?

I absolutely am! Any and all skin tones are more than welcome. Tattoos are for everyone.

Q: Are you comfortable tattooing differently-abled people?

Absolutely! Again; tattooing is for all people.

Please let me know what your needs are prior to our appointment in order to best accommodate you and ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Q: What do you recommend for healing?

Every tattoo artist has their own preferences and suggestions when it comes to healing a tattoo, but some universally agreed rules are:

  • Use unscented products for washing and moisturizing - think dermatologist approved rather than Lush

  • Moisturize only when necessary - if its super dry, tight, itchy, or cracking. Once a day is usually plenty.

  • Do not soak in water. Do not go swimming (no pools, no lakes, nothing), DO NOT have a bath (soaking an open wound in your personal bacteria soup? Nah)

  • No sun. Keep it covered and away from sun exposure.

  • No itching, no scratching, no picking at it.

  • Just leave it the fuck alone and keep it clean
